Postdoctoral Research Associate – Computer Vision

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria 1. PhD qualified in relevant subject area (or nearing completion) 2. Good knowledge of computer vision algorithms for image and video processing
3. Strong experience in machine learning or deep learning for medical image analysis
4. Strong programming skills in Python, with additional experience in C/C++ or other object oriented languages
5. Experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow for computer vision tasks
6. Track record of publications in relevant research fields Desirable criteria 1. Multi-modal image analysis expertise
2. Real-time detection and segmentation methods for clinical applications
3. Surgical video analysis, e.g. workflow recognition, polyp detection, or tissue characterization
4. 3D reconstruction or geometric modelling from medical images
5. Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant.
