Our apprenticeships

A BAM apprenticeship is a full time earn and learn position; where you will be involved in supporting BAM deliver multi million pound projects.  Leaving a lasting legacy and positive change in our communities.

On completion of a Higher level 4 apprenticeship, you will then be given the opportunity to progress on to a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship and gain a full honours degree.

The purpose of theApprentice Performance Improvement Analystrole is to learn how data can be used to answer questions and solve problems. This involves participating in requirement-gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modelling data to discover useful information, inform conclusions, and support decision-making. Data analysis encompasses diverse techniques and approaches under various names, playing a crucial role in making decisions more evidence-based and helping organizations operate more effectively.

What you'll be doing
  • Engage in training sessions and practical work to develop skills in data analysis.
  • Assist in collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and objectives.
  • Support the inspection and cleansing of data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Help transform and model data to uncover insights and patterns.
  • Participate in using data to discover useful information and trends to support decision-making.
  • Learn to handle data in a compliant, safe, and secure manner, adhering to company data policy and legislation.
  • Work alongside colleagues at various levels within the organization and potentially with external clients to provide data analysis services.
  • Stay abreast of changes and trends in the data industry, including new languages, tools, and software.
What you'll need

  • Attention to Detail: Developing the ability to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Problem-Solving: Learning to analyse data and derive meaningful insights.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new trends and tools in the data analysis field.
  • Compliance Awareness: Understanding of data handling regulations and company policies.

 

Academic requirements

Essential

  • GCSE grade 5 (B) or above in Maths
  • GCSE grade 5 (B) or above in English Language
  • 3 additional GCSE’s (or equivalent) grade 4 (C) of above

Plus

Desirable

  • 1 x A level (or equivalent) in a related field, data science/statistics/computer science or similar
