About your team: 

You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.

ALP salary is £32,866, rising to £43,733 on successful completion of the course.

Classroom training will be held at either our Dartford or Thatcham academies (Accommodation supplied where applicable).

Starting a career in the gas industry can be challenging, especially when you're told that you need experience to get started. We’re looking for motivated and driven individuals to join our team in 2025. If you’re ready to invest your time and energy into a programme that will transform you into one of the best gas engineers in the industry, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:

Comprehensive Training:The ALP is atwo-year programmecombining40 weeks of classroom trainingat one of our award-winning academies, alongsidehands-on field trainingto build real-world skills.

Progressive Learning:Over time, you’ll gradually take on more responsibility, gaining practical experience in the field while receiving full support every step of the way.

Achieve Full Qualification:By the end of the programme, you’ll be a fully qualified gas engineer with the knowledge and expertise to excel in your role.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:You’ll need current ACS accreditation (including CCN1, CENWAT or CEN1/WAT1, and CPA1)

Passion and Motivation:If you’re committed to learning and keen to develop your skills, we’re looking for you!

A Can-Do Attitude:You’ll need the drive to face challenges head-on, embrace learning, and push yourself to succeed.

Some Experience is a Plus:While experience isn’t a requirement,1 year of hands-on experiencein the industry is ideal. But most importantly, we’re looking for individuals with the right attitude, motivation, and determination to succeed

Driving:Full UK driving licence with 6 points or less is needed
