Role Overview:
Because of a key strategic development and a new exciting business opportunity, we have a requirement for a security-clearedNetwork Engineerbased in the UK working at our Farnborough site and remotely.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
As a result of some exciting programme wins, we currently have a permanent vacancy for aNetwork Engineerto support the development, transition & in-service running (including capability upgrades) of data centre hosted IT application and infrastructure solution providing support to a critical operational end user.
You will demonstrate effective application ofNetwork Engineeringexpertise and extensive knowledge across a variety of data centre, wide area, storage area and campus networking technologies: routing (dynamic protocols), switching, load balancing and firewalls.
The role will provide technical exposure variance across both outcomes based project activities and operational (Business as Usual) support activities.
Your passions and experience will help you become a technical specialist and process owner with our operations support services including service improvement and add further value to our service offerings. You will be expected to contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation (HLDs, LLDs, Work Instructions) and provide material to support the project work or the operational support service.
We are looking for someone with a passion forNetwork Engineering, ideally from an enterprise data centre background. You will be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables. Whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPIs and SLAs. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges.
You will be responsible for:
Providing
networkskills and produce low level solution designs as part of the delivery team Work with delivery teams to implement modern, highly available, scalable
networksusing a range of new and emerging technologies including automation Input into
networkmanagement and acceptance aspects including setting standards and providing your technical expertise to Leidos programme teams Utilise the concepts and principles of verification and validation to deliver relevant
network designsCollaborate with customers on all aspects of
networkmanagement including the assurance and integration of infrastructure services to meet the needs of multiple lines of business Recognise and exploit business opportunities by leveraging architecture and design best practice Communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context.
WHO DO WE NEED?
We are looking for someone with excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills who has:
Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of data centre and campus networking technologies: Cisco (routing, switching, firewalls), Palo Alto (Next Gen firewalls), F5 (global and local load balancing), encryption; Strong understanding of routing protocols (static and dynamic) in data centre, campus and wide area networks; Strong experience of operating high availability data centre networks supporting critical workloads on Windows, Linux and SAN including technical refresh of large numbers of devices; Strong experience of monitoring and management tooling including Solarwinds, FMC, Panorama; Have good general knowledge of Windows Server Environments, (including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO) and Linux (RHEL) data centre server infrastructures; Have good general knowledge of Microsoft Stack technologies such as MS SQL, MS System Centre; Have excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer; Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; Knowledge and experience of working in Agile and or Scaled Agile delivery teams where secure by design is the approach to delivery.
