Marketing Data Scientist (Contract)
Retail Client
£450-£480 per day outside IR35
Midlands - 1-2 days per week on site

We're working with a leading UK retailer undergoing a major international growth phase, supporting both its core brand and newly acquired high-profile partners. They're looking to bring in an experienced Marketing Data Scientist to help drive forward a business-critical marketing measurement project.

You'll join a collaborative Marketing & Data Science team focused on rolling out marketing effectiveness models at scale. The business has expanded operations from 30 to 50 countries, with plans to launch in another 30, making measurement and targeting more complex and more important than ever.

Over the past two years, the Data Science function has invested heavily in infrastructure and tooling. Now, they need an expert who can help implement robust, production-ready marketing measurement solutions, with a strong focus on causal inference and marketing mix modelling.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and automate models to measure marketing campaign effectiveness (particularly email) across regions
  • Apply causal inference techniques to support hypothesis testing and inform strategic decisions
  • Build and refine marketing mix models - the framework is in place but needs deep modelling expertise to finalise and scale
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to bring models into production and ensure results are communicated effectively
  • Support the team's use of tools like Robyn (Meta's open-source MMM tool) and Meridian, taking solutions beyond prototype

Skills & Experience

  • Python, SQL, Databricks, PySpark
  • Familiarity with Robyn or Meridian
  • Dashboarding experience is beneficial
  • Proven track record of deploying marketing mix models or causal models into production
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL

Benefits

£450-£480 per day, outside IR35, 3 month contract, 1-2 days in the Midlands office, immediate start
