The team automates the manual classification process through technical solutions that rely heavily on machine learning models. We partner closely with business operations and tech teams worldwide to deliver complex ambitious roadmaps with the customers goal in mind. We leverage off the sciences of data information processing machine learning and generative AI to improve user experience automation service resilience and operational efficiency. Our work expands AIdriven capabilities of our Retail businesses.

We are seeking a successful Software Dev Manager to lead our efforts in automating the classification of our entire worldwide selection within regulatory classes. The Software Development Manager will work with stakeholders from multiple business units to gather requirements to develop and deploy the next generation of classification models.

The Software Dev manager will lead a 2pizzas team comprising Machine Learning Engineers Software Engineers Applied Scientists and will be the single threaded owner of of high impact Machine Learning solutions that we are building. It is a green field as those solutions still need to be built. The business problems at hand present exciting scientific and enginerring challenges ranging from driving the right research to working under constraint of high throughput inferences. If done well the work the impact of the work will be counted in hundreds of millions of dollars.

Beside strong engineering knowledge and business knowledge basic ML knowledge we are looking for candidate with exceptional managerial and communication skills; to be able to lead a high performing crossfunctional team to higher successes.



Key job responsibilities
Lead an ML product team comprising of Engineers and Applied Scientists
Act as a coach and grow the team members
Deliver development and deployment of ML models into production system to automatically classify Amazons selection within the different regulatory classes.
Drive Software and Engineering best practices


Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience in engineering team management
Experience in engineering
Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
Experience partnering with product and program management teams
Basic knowledge of ML

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
Experience in building software that include ML to bring customer value
