Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Team

The Policy Strategy Partners (PSP) team sits within Netflix’s Global Affairs team, as a global, central function of deep policy specialists, who provide substantive advice and strategic guidance on our policy priorities and markets. We work closely with our regional policy leads and cross-functional partners in legal, content, comms, finance, and product to drive alignment, shape global strategies, and ensure those strategies are locally resonant, accounting for cultural, legal, and regulatory nuances.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Manager, Artificial Intelligence Policy to join the Content and Studio Public Policy team within PSP. This role will help shape and implement Netflix’s strategic positioning and advocacy around the use of artificial intelligence, ensuring that our creator and innovation-driven, responsible approach is accurately understood and clearly distinguished from harmful or unethical applications.

The Content and Studio Public Policy Team drives policy strategies to support the growth, flexibility, and sustainability of our content business. Anchored in the goal of supporting production and innovation to deliver compelling, locally relevant storytelling, we advocate for production incentives, infrastructure, and skills development, and flexible regulatory frameworks that enable member-driven content strategies, defend artistic freedom, protect our ability to embrace tools such as GenAI, promote contractual flexibility, and champion strong content protection tools.

This role is highly cross-functional and global in nature, working closely with other PSP subject matter experts (e.g., IP, trade, privacy, games, advertising), as well as product, legal, engineering, and the creative innovation teams.

In This Role, You Will

  • Support the Director, IP and AI, in shaping and executing Netflix’s AI policy strategy, with a focus on data, training, use of creative tools, model outputs, product innovation, and responsible deployment in the content and member experience space.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, especially legal, content, and product, to translate technical developments into clear policy positions that reflect business priorities.
  • Collaborate with regional and country policy leads to tailor global AI policy messaging to local regulatory contexts and cultural dynamics.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to showcase Netflix’s positive and responsible use of AI in production and in our product.
  • Monitor and analyze global AI developments, including legislative proposals, regulatory consultations, multilateral initiatives, and ethical AI frameworks, to anticipate risks and inform strategy.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including policymakers, industry groups, academics, and civil society, to build support for Netflix’s position and thought leadership in the AI policy space.
  • Support cross-industry collaborations on best practices and AI governance, representing Netflix in key working groups and coalitions.
  • Track emerging risks, including nefarious uses of AI, geopolitical shifts, and technological breakthroughs, to help differentiate Netflix’s approach and guide responsible innovation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Economics, Technology Policy, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or legal/regulatory work.
  • Working knowledge of the global technology, media, and entertainment sectors and relevant policy landscapes.
  • Strong understanding of AI policy issues, including copyright and IP, data governance, algorithmic accountability, safety, and innovation policy.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in a law firm, regulatory body, or in-house public policy role at a tech or media company.
  • Proven success developing and implementing public policy strategies related to AI, tech regulation, or digital innovation.
  • Experience engaging with governments, multilateral organizations, and industry groups on complex policy matters.
  • Ability to synthesize technical, legal, and business perspectives into clear and actionable strategies.

We Need Someone Who

  • Can hit the ground running and work autonomously but is also a great team player
  • Can work cross-functionally with a variety of teams and synthesize the views into a holistic Netflix position on policy
  • Is used to working alongside creative, legal and business execs in setting context around the changing regulatory frameworks and spotting global themes.
  • Is willing to travel internationally
  • Is intellectually curious, demonstrates great initiative and will welcome the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization

We encourage you to apply as early as possible. Please note that the final deadline for applications is Monday August 4th, 2025.

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
