An overview of the role:

You will work on high profile, impactful projects which help our clients implement digital technologies and new ways of working to transform the way in which they build, manage and maintain their capital asset portfolios. Our clients are some of the largest asset intensive organisations in the Transport, Energy and Utilities Sector, who own and operate vast asset portfolios. 

Our consultants bring Asset Intensive Industry experience, strong business improvement skillsets and a clear perspective on how digitalisation of core Capital Project delivery and Asset Management processes can reduce the total cost of ownership, drive operational efficiency and asset availability and deliver on stakeholder commitments. 

We work collaboratively with clients at all levels of organisations and across all stages of the asset lifecycle to help them define the key foundations and capabilities to set up their capital projects and asset operations for success. Starting with the end objectives in mind, we blend deep industry insight with the use of leading technologies and techniques to help our clients introduce more integrated ways of working. We move from ‘idea to action’ quickly and build confidence along the digital journey to help our clients successfully deliver, manage and operate critical infrastructure.

Why this role?

As a Consultant focusing on Asset Management, you’ll help set the direction and contribute to driving forward our business, modelling our values and behaviours, and coaching and developing junior members of the team. Key expectations from this role will vary depending on your seniority but are likely to include:

Defining client strategy, delivery roadmaps and investment cases. You will help develop business cases for the deployment of asset technology solutions and support clients in making value-based scoping decisions. Helping our clients design and develop solutions which digitise and optimise processes across the value chain, from engineering design through to the successful commissioning and handover to asset operations.  Leading the creation and evolution of Digital Asset Management capabilities by developing roadmaps focused on streamlining operations, optimising processes and maintaining best practice asset management.  Defining project scope and objectives, facilitating workshops to define and prioritise requirements, agreeing outcomes and programme risks.  Taking ownership for the delivery of workstreams within transformation programmes.  Working on Project Management Activities including tracking of project budget, deliverables and resources, managing vendor relationships, mitigating project risks and managing project change requests  Building and maintaining relationships with current and new clients. 

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:
• Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
• Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
• Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.
 

We’d love to meet someone with:

Experience of either working in a consultancy environment or working on internal organisational improvement initiatives Experience of working within asset intensive organisations and demonstrating a strong understanding and experience in asset and material management. Good understanding of asset management best practices and the ways in which these re evolving.  Experience in (digital) transformation programme design and delivery.  Strong knowledge and preferably practical experience in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), digital twin, connected assets, cloud solutions, data analytics, automation and control etc.  Experience of one or more digital asset management Software Systems especially in SAP PM/MM, Maximo, OSI PI, Aspen, PTC, Primavera, Prometheus, GE Predix, Bentley, NRX Asset Hub etc.  Sound knowledge of Asset Management Lifecycle, Turnaround Management, Work Planning and Execution as well as Reliability Engineering, Programme and Project Management skills.  Recognised qualifications from the Institute of Asset Management (would be particularly welcome) Familiarity with international Asset Management Standards such as ISO55000/1  Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.  Experience of proposition building and delivery. Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background.
