Breakthrough technology is vital for strengthening the UKs Defence and Homeland Security. As a Machine Learning Consultant at Awerian you will be at the forefront of this innovation race to defend and protect the UK from the latest technological and cyber threats.

 

Your work will have a realworld impact. You will explore and develop cuttingedge technologies by working within multidisciplinary teams of highly educated and skilled scientists and engineers.

 

As a Machine Learning Consultant you will use your curiosity creativity and rigour to tackle diverse realworld challenges which are typically at the forefront of emerging AI/ML technologies. You will use your experience to design and deploy systems that apply machine learning to a broad range of tasks often in novel settings pulling together thirdparty components and building elements yourself. You will research the fundamentals of models their architectures and each stage of the machine learning pipeline. Its a fantastically challenging varied and agile role.

 

Awerians wide variety of intriguing projects often bring together aspects of science engineering and machine learning. Projects span proofofconcepts through to working prototypes providing both intellectual and practical challenges. The projects will test your ability to solve problems across the machine learning development cycle: ideation; data I/O cleaning and preparation; rapid code prototyping and feasibility testing; designing refining and evaluating models; and deploying and packaging code into clientready demonstrators and products. The sense of job satisfaction will be tangible as you collaborate across disciplines and stretch your knowledge and capabilities into new areas of pioneering research and development.

 

Requirements

You will hold an undergraduate degree 2:1 or above) in a relevant subject including Physics Maths Engineering Computer Science etc. Graduate degrees with demonstrable research experience or equivalent research and development experience are highly desirable. You will bring a rigorous scientific approach independent mindset and broad interest in developments across the machine learning field.

 

Key technical skills of interest include:

  • Very strong foundation in Python.
  • Handson experience with current frameworks such as Tensorflow PyTorch and JAX.
  • Experience of building machine learning solutions for novel problems and/or resourceconstrained situations and/or current edgeprocessing platforms.
  • Experience of a broad range of machine learning techniques (e.g. computer vision audio reconstruction generative models) and/or the ability to adapt to new domains rapidly.
  • Familiarity with GPU hardware and their associated languages (e.g. CUDA).

 

Ideally you will have notable experience in two or more of the above areas. Experience of or skills required for clientfacing (or similar) roles are highly desirable. We are keen to hear from exceptional applicants with experience in any sector.
