Lecturer in Software Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering

UCL’s Department of Computer Science (CS) is a top-ranked Computer Science Department in the UK. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) evaluation, UCL Computer Science was ranked second in the UK for research power and first in England.

About the role

The appointee will be based in the Software Systems Engineering (SSE) group within the Department of Computer Science at UCL (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/computer-science/research/research-groups/software-systems-engineering-group). The post holder will be responsible to act as module lead for modules offered by the specialised MSc programmes run by the SSE group (Sofware Systems Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering), design new modules as well as contribute to existing modules as required. Additionally, they may be asked to teach lectures and tutorials across other related modules in collaboration with other tutors as well as contribute to administration activities within the Department of Computer Science, as agreed with their line manager. About you

A PhD in Computer Science or closely related discipline, or comparable working experience, is required. The post holder is expected to have a strong knowledge of the subject areas (Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, Software Systems Engineering), combined with a broad subject background enabling contributions to teaching programmes.The post holder must have a proven record of teaching and assessing students’ work. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English are required.
