About this role

The School of Computing and Creative Technologies at UWE Bristol is rapidly expanding, with around 130 academic staff and over 2,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Our state-of-the-art programmes cover a wide range of computing disciplines, and we also support a growing and successful body of research.

We currently offer an MSc in Data Science, delivered both on campus and online, and will be adding a BSc in Data Science and a BSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence top-up degree from September 2025. We also have active PhD students in this area.

About you

Candidates for the Lecturer in Data Science position should have a PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent industry experience. Expertise in one or more areas relevant to data science is essential, including but not limited to:

  • data management
  • analytics
  • data mining
  • cloud computing
  • data visualization
  • machine learning
  • artificial intelligence
  • natural language processing

The primary focus of this role will be teaching, and we will expect you to support teaching on our programmes, although you will be encouraged and supported in your research ambitions.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
