Job description

At Depop, we work in multidisciplinary teams (Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics) that focus on a given internal or external customer problem space. We are collaborative in our approach and you will drive the product vision, prioritise roadmaps based on business objectives, work well with marketeers, analysts and engineers, gather data to drive decision making across multiple production teams, and ensure alignment and buy-in from a variety of business stakeholders. This role will report to the Director of Product & Technology Operations and depending on your experience and interest, could line manage the Martech Product team who are embedded in the AdTech & CommsTech squads. 

As a Lead Product Manager for Marketing Technology, you will play a pivotal role at depop, leading our Martech teams to expand the capabilities of our marketing teams. You will be responsible for identifying, evolving and optimising the capabilities, tools and systems that we need to surface engaging and relevant marketing content that drive our users to perform valuable (and attributable) actions. Your work will directly enable revenue generation and return on investment for our Paid marketeers.

Responsibilities:

Work with stakeholders and the Martech team to build a feasible roadmap that enables us to achieve our marketing goals. Define and monitor MarTech KPIs in collaboration with Paid Marketing, Product, Engineering & other key stakeholders.  Be a key driver of defining, evolving and executing on our Adtech strategy, which aligns with the company's broader goals and vision and flexes according to the changing privacy and tooling landscape. Work closely with the Martech engineering and product leads, rolling your sleeves up and troubleshooting any technical challenges, making trade-offs, recognising and resolving, or escalating any obstacles before they impact delivery.  Ensure that all Martech products and practices comply with relevant current and upcoming regulations. Keep return on investment at the forefront of your mind, work with the engineering and marketing teams to evaluate build vs buy options in the Adtech space. Make informed, pragmatic decisions, effectively communicate your rationale and learnings to technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders, foster the sharing of knowledge and understanding between the team and their internal customers.  Keep abreast of and share industry trends, privacy changes, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to maintain Depop's competitive edge. Identify and leverage the expertise of key functional stakeholders (e.g. Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Legal, Marketing, Product) and other squads to help align, evolve and execute on the strategy for your area.

Qualifications

Must-haves:

Expert adtech domain knowledge. You have a deep and applied understanding of the advertising ecosystem, including product catalogues, ad conversion data, targeting and measurement, as well as the changing privacy and compliance scape Well versed in the Martech technical stack. You’re a hands-on, pragmatic problem solver who collaborates closely with engineering to deliver value to users early and often. You have a proven ability to roll out marketing technology solutions in mobile apps. Entrepreneurial and analytical. You think constantly about driving results, have a strong bias to action and experience with end to end data reconciliation and validation, from the client to business reports.  Experienced Product Manager. You have considerable experience as a Product Manager/Owner in an agile, fast-moving environment, with a focus on AdTech or digital advertising products (feeds, offsite ads, attribution etc). Excellent communication and leadership skills. You are adaptable, articulate, and can effectively influence and collaborate with all levels of stakeholders (up to exec).

Nice to Have:

Experience and interest in people management of at least 1-2 direct reports Experience working in a marketplace or ecommerce platform business. Applied knowledge of other aspects of Martech/marketing experience, for example CRM and customer engagement tooling An engineering background Experience with customer data platforms like Segment and building reverse ETL systems, tag management tools such as Google Tag Manager, and Marketing Analytics software such as Branch and GA4. A love of fashion and sustainability, especially if you’re already part of the Depop community.
