Role Overview:

KPMG UK is seeking aLead GenAI Engineerto join ourData & AI team, specializing ingenerative AI model development,AI transformation, andlarge-scale enterprise AI implementations. In this role, you will lead impactful AI initiatives, driving innovation and addressing complex business challenges. As a thought leader, you’ll guide cross-functional teams, define AI strategies, and deliver cutting-edge solutions that drive tangible outcomes for both KPMG and our clients. The role will also have significant opportunity to influence the way AI shapes KPMG’s own way of doing business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead AI TransformationsDrive large-scale generative AI transformation projects across the organization and clients, ensuring seamless adoption of AI solutions that address critical business challenges.Provide AI thought leadership to business stakeholders, advising on AI strategy, roadmap, and the integration of generative AI technologies into business processes to drive valueTechnical Leadership and CollaborationLead a team of AI engineers and data scientists, mentoring junior team members and ensuring that best practices in AI development and deployment are followed.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and architect robust, scalable AI systems that integrate generative AI models into complex enterprise environments.Create Proof of Concept, deliver Minimal Viable Products, or fully-fledged projects, and deploy models into production.Business Development & Practise BuildingWork closely with business teams and clients to demonstrate the potential of AI and assess its feasibility for solving business challenges.Lead feasibility studies, develop data strategies, support RFP responses, and demo to prospective clients.Ethical and Secure AI deploymentEnsure compliance with KPMG’s data governance policies and industry regulations regarding AI models and data processing.Implement best practices in data privacy, security, and ethical AI, particularly when handling sensitive data.Contribute to KPMG’s body of knowledge in the deployment of fair and transparent AI modelsResearch & InnovationStay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and LLMs, applying new methodologies to improve model performance.Conduct research into new AI use cases and innovate to enhance KPMG’s offerings.Publish findings and contribute to internal documentation, presenting insights at industry conferences.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Background:We are keen to hear from people with the right skills and mindset. We think that this means you will likely have a degree in a related field (such as Computer Science, Statistics or a related field) – but that is not a must. If you have a degree in a different field, or no degree at all but significant professional experience in a related field, please consider applyingAdvanced certifications in AI/ML, cloud computing, or data engineering are a bonus.

Work Experience:A strong background in AI/ML, with expertise in developing and deploying generative AI solutions at scale.Proven experience working with foundational Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT and BERT, and successfully driving AI transformation.Expertise in AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.), cloud-native solutions, and tools like Databricks and Snowflake.Strong background in cloud services and scalable AI solutions in production environments.Experience managing a wide range of stakeholders in complex situations.Skills:Proficient in designing, coding, and optimizing generative AI models, including prompt engineering for LLMs like GPT and BERT.Deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms, model optimization, and deploying scalable solutions in cloud environments.Experience with version control (Git), Linux, Docker, and data engineering tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Elasticsearch.Strong problem-solving, team collaboration, and communication skills.Business Development (either in a commercial environment or through ‘selling your ideas’) a plus
