Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be at the heart of the fast-paced ESG Integration work of one of Europe's largest investment managers. This critical role embeds the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data into operating models to support investment decisions, risk assessments and the development of policy positions, as well as enabling reporting to clients

The ever-increasing amount of ESG data has become essential to teams across the business. It now needs to flow into monitoring, trading, order management and reporting systems to understand risks and opportunities for a broad range of ESG-tilted and non-ESG funds

This is multi-faceted role will involve leading a small team of ESG Data Scientist/Analysts and working closely with the ESG Product Owner and other key stakeholders to devise solutions to best achieve ambitious organisational priorities

What you'll be doing:

  • Progressing the automation of ESG data production, self-service access and analysis and systematic integration into other LGIM systems
  • Developing and maintain an understanding of the ESG regulations such as SFDR, TCFD, UK SDR and ISSB and of client reporting requirements
  • Through active engagement with internal business and technology stakeholders, identifying solutions for improving the consistent integration of ESG into the fully investment product lifecycle
  • Enhancing internal trust in ESG data by relentlessly improving data quality and transparency
  • Ensuring high quality and rapid delivery of new ESG data requirements
  • Devise innovative approaches for advanced ESG data analytics and insights
  • Managing the delivery process by running stand-ups, planning and review meetings.
  • Ensuring that data-related documentation is kept up to date
  • Instil a team culture of continuous improvement, learning and innovation



Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Familiarity with ESG metrics and data providers such as Sustainalytics, Bloomberg, ISS and MSCI
  • Significant experience with building robust data-oriented solutions in Python, including web apps
  • Experience with modern data tools, ideally Tableau, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas and Python visualisation libraries
  • Exposure to machine learning approaches such as neural networks, NLP, generative AI desirable
  • Experience working at an investment management company
  • Experience with manging Agile delivery, preferably Kanban and Scrum.
  • Ability to communicate across business and technical stakeholders of various levels of seniority, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, including a desire to mentor team members
  • You'll have a real passion for ESG and sustainable investing with a drive for excellent service with a commercial focus
