Lead Data Scientist - Computer Vision & AI Location: Hybrid / Flexible Eligibility: Must have the right to work in the UK We're hiring a Lead Data Scientist to own and grow the computer vision capability at the core of an AI-driven manufacturing intelligence platform. This is a hands-on, senior role where you'll work with images, schematics, and metadata to build AI systems that actually run in production. You'll combine computer vision experience with strong data engineering and MLOps skills - and play a key role in shaping how intelligence is built across the platform. If you enjoy solving real-world problems and turning models into reliable products, this one's worth a look. Why this role? Lead and shape a core AI capability from the ground up * Work on real production systems, not research only models * High ownership, strong technical influence, and cross team collaboration * Modern AI stack with room to experiment and evolve What you'll be doing: Building and deploying computer vision models for inspection and analysis * Designing data pipelines that support large scale image and metadata processing * Taking models from training through to monitoring and iteration * Working closely with engineers and product teams on platform design * Mentoring others and helping set technical direction What you'll bring: Strong background in applied computer vision and deep learning * Solid Python engineering and experience with production ML systems * Hands on experience with cloud ML platforms and MLOps * Confidence working with large, messy, real world datasets * Ability to explain complex ideas clearly and pragmatically Nice to have: Experience in manufacturing, inspection, or industrial AI * Exposure to distributed data processing or multimodal models * Interest in agent-based AI systems Interested?
