Job Description:
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are looking to add an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Data Scientist to our Data Science team. This role involves leading a team of Data Scientists, working across various business functions to generate insights and demonstrate the value of Data Science initiatives.
What you’ll be doing:
Joining an established team of Data Science professionals based in the UK and India, you will use Data Science to understand, automate, and optimize key business processes across the customer journey, from marketing and pricing to operations.
As our Lead Data Scientist , you’ll work with internal teams to identify opportunities, collaborate with stakeholders, and lead your team in applying machine learning and statistical models. You will also:
Demonstrate experience in managing and coaching data scientists, overseeing project progress, and reporting to management.
Lead the application of machine learning and statistical modeling tools.
Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and provide actionable recommendations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies throughout projects.
What you’ll have:
A strong numerical and statistical background, with expertise in Python preferred.
Strong SQL skills, familiarity with Snowflake desirable, and ability to create clear data visualizations in tools like Tableau.
Experience leading data science projects from conception to deployment, with proven value realization.
Familiarity with cloud platforms for data science and storage is desirable.
Ability to gather, cleanse, and enrich data from multiple sources.
An understanding of data governance and quality assessment.
