Summer-Browning Associates are currently supporting our client within the central government, who are seeking a Lead Applied AI Engineer on an initial 6 month assignment.

Location: London, Bristol or Manchester (Hybrid)

About the role:
You will be responsible for leading the design and establishment of frameworks, tools and processes to responsibly develop, deploy and monitor AI products.

The ideal candidate will hold active SC clearance and possess a proven background in Lead AI Engineer, along with the following qualifications:

Skills and Experience:

Proficient experience in Python
Strong software engineering skills with a focus on building production-ready systems
Experience of deploying & monitoring such systems in a cloud environment.
Experience with natural language processing, deep learning and generative AI.
Familiarity with tools for working with Large Language Models via API or in a local context (e.g. HuggingFace transformers).
Building AI agents, or products that rely on AI agents
Developing and working with tools and interfaces for AI applications (e.g. Anthropic's Model Context Protocol)
Training traditional Machine Learning and Deep Learning models. (Desirable)
Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker. (Desirable)
