EdgeMethods are an established Microsoft Gold Partner who specialise in delivering Digital Transformational Solution for our customers. We are in the process of establishing a dedicated AI division to assist businesses with the adoption of AI technologies. We are currently recruiting a Junior Data Scientist with progression to AI engineering, who will play a leading role in this new service line.


The Company’s normal working hours are 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. However, you are required to work such additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties.


The Role


  • Develop skills and competencies on the latest developments, trends, and advancements in AI and machine learning and become our lead EdgeMethods technical subject matter expert (SME) in this space.
  • Developing advanced Machine learning models on data, driven by customer use cases that complement the EdgeMethods solutions.
  • Taking the models from conception to deployment, utilising statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to extract insights and create predictive models.
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to gather, clean and pre-process data for analysis.
  • Present back Model findings and Data Analytics to the customer or key stakeholders and engage in ideation sessions to develop the extended model strategy.
  • Become an expert in specific AI tools such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Microsoft's Co-Pilot, understanding their full functionality and potential applications to develop the EdgeMethods AI strategy on top of traditional ML models.


Desirables

  • Completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest and passion for AI technology and its business applications.
  • Familiarity or willingness to become proficient with AI tools and software, specifically OpenAI's ChatGPT and Microsoft Co-Pilot.
  • Knowledge and understanding of data visualisation and statistics.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key tools such as Python or other similar programming/query languages (Matlab, R)
  • Power BI and SQL or other query languages – we will provide additional training and support as required.
  • Source Control and DevOps – we will provide additional training and support as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with the AI industry and its key players will be a plus.

Additional requirements


Prepared to travel and stay away overnight when required.


The EdgeMethods team, and this role, are UK based and work remotely, so the applicant must be comfortable working in a remote team environment.

The role of Junior AI Engineer / Data Scientist will report to our Chief Technical Officer. The candidate will work primarily from home or occasionally on client site and will be provided with all the necessary technology to do so.
