The shift pattern for this position is Monday – Friday 08.30-16.30

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Infection Prevention and Control Healthcare Support Worker (IPCHSW) within NHSGGC Infection Prevention and Control Team. The post holderwill work as part of a team delivering an Infection Prevention & Control service across Health & Social Care Partnerships. The wide ranging portfolio of the team includes but is not limited to, mental health and learning disability inpatient sites, directly managed community services and two ambulatory care hospitals. In addition, the post holder will be required to work within IPCTs across different Sectors within NHSGGC. The post will be based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.The post holder will be involved in supporting the IPCT team in the delivery of the IPC service. This may include support in carrying out audits, education, outbreak/incident investigation and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.We are looking for someone who is motivated and can demonstrate good communication skills. The post holder must be organised, flexible and have the ability to adapt quickly to service demands.The successful candidate must have SVQF level 7 qualification (e.g. SVQ3 in Healthcare) or equivalent knowledge gained in a relevant area through experience. Experience of working within the NHS is essential. An awareness of infection prevention control is advantageous.A current driving licence is essential for this post along with access to a car.
