Join us as Software Engineer (MLOps) at Barclays,where youll help design, build and deploy artificial intelligence(AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions that will help theorganisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring thatprojects are delivered to a high quality and in compliance withregulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. To besuccessful as a Software Engineer working in MLOps you should haveskills in: * Python (or other relevant programming languages),Public Cloud and the Software Development Lifecycle: experience ofworking with the technologies that are part of a modern datatechnology stack, including Python, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Youshould also be comfortable working against * Communication Skills:Ability to interpret business and stakeholder requirements andtranslate these into technical requirements and vice versa theability to explain your technical work to both technical andnon-technical stakeholders and colleagues. Some other highly valuedskills may include * DevOps and MLOps: an understanding of modernDevOps practices in automation, infrastructure-as-code and CICD(e.g GitLab). It will be beneficial if you know how these practicesapply to machine learning and AI projects. * Collaboration and TeamWork: You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team and mustcollaborate with a variety of partners across the organisation.Being able to work effectively with others is a key requirement. *ML and AI: an understanding of data science, from the point of viewof algorithms, data preparation and model deployment. Experiencewith data processing engines like Spark and ML specific toolinglike Sagemaker, Kubeflow, Azure ML etc is a bonus (but notrequired). You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevantfor success in role, such as risk and controls, change andtransformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital andtechnology, as well as job-specific technical skills This role willbe based in our Glasgow office .Purpose of the roleTo supportthe implementation of major changes and improvements to theorganisations IT service management practices by driving strategicinitiatives to modernize, transform and future-proof how the bankdelivers and supports technology services.Accountabilities*Establishment of KPIs to measure the success and impact of specifictransformation programmes, and actively monitor KPIs to identifythe ongoing effectiveness of the initiative, improvement areas withthe IT service management framework, and mitigate any potentialissues. * Analysis of emerging IT service management tools andplatforms to discover if they can support the banks transformationgoals and future needs. * Manage the selection and seamlessimplementation of new tools and platforms into the IT servicemanagement processes, while overseeing the migration of data fromlegacy systems, to improve system efficiency and reduce manualworkload. * Development and communication of change managementstrategic initiatives, visions and goals through workshops,sessions, and various communication channels to highlight thebenefits and impact of modernising, transforming, andfuture-proofing the way the bank delivers and supports itstechnology services. * Prioritisation of the bank’s initiativesbased on their impact on the bank’s goals, resource availabilityand feasibility, and develop and monitoring a clear execution planfor each transformation project to ensure a successfulimplementation.Assistant Vice President Expectations* Consulton complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to supportthe resolution of escalated issues. * Identify ways to mitigaterisk and developing new policiesprocedures in support of thecontrol and governance agenda. * Take ownership for managing riskand strengthening controls in relation to the work done. * Performwork that is closely related to that of other areas, which requiresunderstanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to theachievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function. *Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned supportareas to keep up to speed with business activity and the businessstrategy. * Engage in complex analysis of data from multiplesources of information, internal and external sources such asprocedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).tosolve problems creatively and effectively. * Communicate complexinformation. Complex information could include sensitiveinformation or information that is difficult to communicate becauseof its content or its audience. * Influence or convincestakeholders to achieve outcomes.
