Job Introduction

Our Higher Apprentice Data Fellowship Apprenticeship at Tarmac CRH offers a unique opportunity to transform raw data into actionable insights while contributing to innovative projects that shape the company's future.

As a higher apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience in data analysis, machine learning, and AI-driven techniques to build data pipelines and predictive models.

You'll work with cutting-edge tools and technologies, including Python, SQL, and Azur, while mastering data visualisation using platforms like Power BI, Tableau and Excel.

The program combines practical projects with structured learning, equipping you with skills in Python, R, AI, and machine learning through industry recognised courses.

In addition to gaining a higher apprenticeship through Multiverse - our partnered training provider, you'll apply your knowledge in real-world settings. Upon completing the Level 4 apprenticeship, you may be fast-tracked for a permanent role within the Transformation Office, advancing your career towards a Data Scientist.

Role Responsibility

In this role you will gain exposure to and support - 

Data Analysis and Insights: Conduct analyses across diverse data sources to generate actionable insights. Transform problems into Data Science challenges using machine learning and statistical techniques to improve decision-making. Collaboration and Project Delivery: Work with analysts and developers to build scalable data platforms. Support project delivery through effective planning and resource management for timely results. Data Engineering: Manage datasets for analysis, ensuring quality and compliance. Develop data pipelines using SQL, Python, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) while performing data cleansing. Problem Solving and Testing: Execute test cycles to validate results and promptly resolve issues to minimise disruptions. Communication and Storytelling: Present findings through visualisations and storytelling for diverse audiences. Innovation and Learning: Explore AI and machine learning techniques while expanding technical skills in programming and data visualisation. Ethics and Compliance: Ensure data handling meets ethical guidelines and address biases while safeguarding sensitive information.

The Ideal Candidate

Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success. This following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role: 

Qualifications required: 

GCSE English & Maths 4-9 (C-A*) or equivalent

You will also need to commit to completing a Level 4 Data Fellowship qualification.
