This is a full-time post. Shifts are 12 hours rotational day-night, Monday- Sunday.

A full time post within Older Peoples Mental Health has become available. The successful candidate will deliver care within an Older Peoples Mental Health Ward as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. This role includes providing a safe and supportive environment which promotes patient-centred care and recovery. Effective communication is required to promote therapeutic relationships with patients and other professional disciplines. On an ongoing basis, you will identify, respond and report changes in the patient’s physical and psychological needs to a trained member of staff. You will work within GGC policies and procedures to ensure safe working practices, including Infection Control, Health and Safety and Moving and Handling. As part of a multi-disciplinary team the post holder will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals and in line with agreed standards and clinical policies.

The post-holders will be expected to practice within a legal & ethical framework as defined by:

  • The Health care support workers Code of Professional Conduct
  • National mental health related legislation
  • National and local policy, guidelines and protocols.
