AsHead of Quantitative Modellingyou will be joining theData Scienceteam and will be responsible for thePricing Models quant-team that createspre-match and in-play sports betting forecasting models. The role will be based in London or Athens.

The Goal

What you’ll be doing

Manage the Pricing Models quant-team

Create pre-match and in-play model prototypes and communicate these clearly to the team for implementation

Mentor the team on best practices when it comes to creating forecasting pricing models

Establish testing standards for pricing accuracy and technical performance.

Ensure coding principles are being implemented

Ensure that modelling process is well documented

Create yearly roadmaps with various milestones to monitor the progress of the team.

Collaborate closely with product owners and software developers to move projects from idea to integration

Communicate with clients the key elements that govern the model

Report to the Director of Data Science on workflow and share findings with the Data Science team

The Player

What you’ll bring

As a prerequisite to be considered for the role, you must have 3+ years working experience as a Quant or Data Scientist in the betting industry

3+ years working experience in the betting industry

3+ years of working experience in a managerial position of a Data Science team

A postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field

Advanced programming skills: (a) statistical programming (R or Python), (b) object-oriented programming (C# or Java) and (c) SQL

Experience with various modelling techniques (e.g. Probability Distributions, GLMs, Monte Carlo Simulations, Bayesian Inference, Time-Series Analysis etc.)

A demonstrable interest in developing forecasting models for sports

Nice to Haves…

A PhD in the quantitative field.

Experience with various supervised/unsupervised/reinforcement learning methodologies (e.g. Neural Networks, Random Forests, GBMs, SVMs etc.)

Experience with database management tools

Experience with data visualisation platforms (e.g. Tableau, Qlik Sense, R-shiny etc.)

Experience with version control platforms (e.g. GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket etc.)

Experience with Jira and Confluence
