About the Role

TheHead of Buyingwill play a pivotal role in driving the buying strategy, managing the critical path, and delivering trend-driven, profitable collections that align with Hush’s creative vision and customer expectations. Reporting to the Buying & Merchandising Director, this role is all about leadership, strategy, and innovation.


What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the buying strategy to support business objectives, ensuring alignment with Hush's creative vision and customer expectations.
  • Product Range Development: Oversee the creation of commercially strong, trend-driven collections, working in partnership with Design, Technical, and Merchandising teams.
  • Market Insight and Innovation: Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and customer behaviour to ensure Hush remains relevant and competitive. Drive innovation through the introduction of new product categories or ranges.
  • Supplier Relationships: Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, high-quality products, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Commercial Performance: Collaborate with the Merchandising team to achieve sales, margin, and stock turn targets, ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time.
  • Sustainability Focus: Integrate sustainability practices into the buying process, ensuring alignment with Hush's environmental goals.
  • Critical Path Management: Oversee the product development and production lifecycle, ensuring all critical milestones are met and timelines adhered to.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Inspire, mentor, and develop the Buying team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.


What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience in a senior buying role, preferably within a womenswear brand or retailer.
  • Exceptional understanding of fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and the womenswear market.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen with a proven ability to deliver sales and profit growth.
  • Excellent supplier management and negotiation skills, with a focus on ethical and sustainable sourcing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in managing product development lifecycles and critical path milestones.
  • Passion for sustainability and innovation within the fashion industry.
