Amentum are currently recruiting for Graduate Data Scientists. These are hybrid working roles based in Warrington, London, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, or Edinburgh with remote working options.

You will work primarily within the Nuclear Decommissioning and Regeneration Solutions sector, with opportunities to contribute to projects across Energy, Space, Defence, and Research & Innovation. Collaborate on high-impact initiatives for major clients including Sellafield, EDF, the European Space Agency, and Norwegian Nuclear Decommissioning. The team plays a key role in driving digital transformation - modernising legacy systems, enhancing data capabilities, and leading the organisation’s progression into the digital age.

The Digital and Data team drives continuous improvement in engineering and project management processes through automation, data-driven reporting, and strategic guidance on data governance and best practice.

As part of Amentum’s Graduate Scheme, you will receive comprehensive training in both professional and business skills, alongside discipline-specific development tailored to your career aspirations. What you will learn and develop:


Gain hands-on experience in Python, including working with Large Language Models (LLMs), Flask, Selenium, and Regular Expressions (RegEx).
Learn how to transform complex data into clear, impactful insights through data visualisation and storytelling with Python and Power BI.
Explore the development and application of Agentic AI systems.
Learn to design, build, and manage Knowledge Base Systems for data-driven insight and automation.
Power Platform: Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps
Innovate on the Azure platform, progressing projects from experimentation through to production deployment.
Set up and manage SQL and Graph Databases within the Azure environment.
Collaborate with non-technical and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
Gain exposure to consultancy practices, including how to scope, pitch, and commercially win work.
Receive professional development support towards achieving chartership with the Alliance for Data Science Professionals (AfDSP).

We are looking for candidates who:

Have completed an undergraduate or master’s degree ( Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering) level qualification in a relevant subject by summer 2026.

A solid understanding of statistical methods and analysis.
A good foundation in machine learning principles and techniques.
Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to present ideas and technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.

You must be:


A flexible self-starter, who is keen to drive their career forward.
Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.
Have the permanent right to work in the UK.

Our Graduate Programme assumes that participants are commencing their first professional role post-graduation. To qualify for our Graduate Programme, you must therefore have:


Completed your first degree no earlier than the summer of 2024.
Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation.
Achieved a minimum 2:2 in your first degree.

Selection Process:

Step 1: Apply Online.

Step 2: Successful candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment.

Step 3: Those who are selected will be invited to a final face to face interview with our operations teams.

Step 4: Selected candidates will be offered an opportunity to join Amentum Graduate Programme in September 2026.
