Job description
How we make the difference in Customer and Operations

Customer and Operations is all about connecting - making sure entire enterprises are working together in a way that is more customer-centric, digital and at a lower cost. In a world where AI can tip the balance between human and machine, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, getting clients to find that balance and thrive.

From day one of the graduate scheme, you'll provide organisations with fact-based, actionable insights, helping them see what's coming next; identifying threats, innovations and opportunities that always put people at the heart, all while ensuring efficiency and high performance.

You could be operationalising artificial intelligence to automate systems, designing facilities for patient-focused healthcare, or working with governments to put citizens at the heart of their services, to name just a few of the projects we work on.

How you'll grow with us

In Customer and Operations, you'll work with some of the largest, most well-known organisations in the world, joining a sub-sector-specific team within our Corporate, Public Sector or Financial Services client base. Clients include the UK government, UK banks, the NHS, global coffee chains, transport networks and consumer goods organisations.

On the graduate scheme, you'll work towards the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification, with the support of our learning community.

The teams you could work in

Over the three years, you can gain experience across a range of our teams and find your niche.

Some of these teams include Financial Services, providing solutions to clients across Banking, Insurance, Asset Management and Private Equity; Corporates, leveraging technology, analytics and service delivery options to advance businesses; or Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare, helping to reimagine new ways to make national services better. Another could be KPMG's Infrastructure and Government Strategic Advisory Services (SAS) team who are a group of talented individuals with a passion for built infrastructure. This team supports government and infrastructure clients with their most complex strategic challenges.

So, if you want to join a welcoming team, make effective changes to organisations around the UK, and work with exciting new technology, apply to Customer and Operations Consulting at KPMG.
Capability: Consulting Programme Length: 3 years Qualifications: CIMA Entry Requirements:
At KPMG, everyone brings a unique perspective, and we want to ensure that you have the best opportunity to demonstrate your potential. We want to discover your individual strengths and attributes to help us to know whether you'll enjoy working here and how you'll thrive. That's why we operate an open access policy and an application process that will assess both your qualifications and your qualities.

Generally, you'll be expected to demonstrate the following grades (or equivalents), to show that you're able to successfully study for professional qualifications. If you are a few grades or points short, we would still encourage you to apply, as your application will be reviewed together with your performance in our assessments. You'll also have the opportunity to provide additional information for us to assess your application and potential in the context of your socio-economic background and/or any extenuating circumstances, which may have a positive uplift on your academic achievements through contextual recruitment. Training and Development:
The training and development of our people is critical to the future success of our business. We want to empower you to grow in your own way, to feed your curiosity and embrace a growth mindset in an environment where learning is continuous. Therefore, we have created a rich curriculum and learning community to help you build your skills and fulfil your potential. This ranges from an immersive 5-day induction experience to help you transition to the world of work, formal training courses, leadership knowledge bites, learning journals, online courses and networking events - all aligned to our 'learn for a lifetime' strategy designed to help you gain an advantage for life.

The CIMA qualification uses innovative technology and is delivered via a blend of Online Classroom Live and recorded courses, in addition to in-centre classroom courses. It also has wrap-around support which consists of dedicated professional coaches, online portal content and live and recorded additional study sessions, which means there is a form of support for your every need.

This blended approach enables you to study and learn the content at a pace suited to your learning style, but ensures all are at the right technical level prior to stepping into revision elements, so you can focus on your exam technique before the exam. The structure of the programme is delivered via an apprenticeship route which really enables you to learn on the job and apply your knowledge to the workplace. It equally means that your learning and examinations are spread over the lifetime of the training contract, so that you are able to build up your technical knowledge, and can gradually apply what you are learning in training to your workplace experience.

In line with our hybrid model, you will be required to travel to our training partners offices, it is important that you read our guide on How to get the best out of our hybrid model.

Rural-Remote AI Jobs: A Breath of Fresh Air in the UK Tech Scene

A New Horizon for AI Professionals For years, conversations around tech careers in the UK have hinged on a central theme: to succeed in artificial intelligence (AI), you must be in or around London (or other big metropolitan areas like Manchester, Bristol, or Edinburgh). But times are changing. Technological leaps and the rise of flexible working are paving the way for AI professionals to live and work well beyond the capital. From the rugged coastlines of Cornwall and Pembrokeshire to the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, we’re witnessing an exciting trend of AI remote countryside roles that allow you to work at the forefront of tech innovation—all while enjoying the tranquillity of rural or seaside living. At ArtificialIntelligenceJobs.co.uk, we’re seeing a marked increase in job postings and applications for these sorts of positions. A growing segment of job seekers is actively searching for “tech jobs by the sea” or “AI remote countryside,” driven by a desire for better work-life balance, lower living costs, and a healthier lifestyle. And it’s not just employees who stand to benefit; employers eager to attract top-tier AI talent are discovering that offering remote or flexible roles widens their candidate pool and enhances diversity. If you’re enticed by the idea of logging off from a day of coding neural networks and taking a stroll along a coastal path—or stepping outside your converted barn in Northumberland to soak in some fresh country air—this article is for you. Below, we’ll explore the benefits and challenges of rural-remote AI jobs, the specific roles best suited for remote work, and how to position yourself for success in this rapidly evolving sector.

When Qubits Fuel Neural Networks: The Emerging Frontier of Quantum-Enhanced AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has soared to unimaginable heights over the last few years, revolutionising sectors ranging from healthcare and finance to logistics and entertainment. But while deep learning models have grown more sophisticated and powerful, they remain tied to the limitations of classical computing systems. Enter quantum computing, a burgeoning field that leverages qubits—quantum bits—to achieve processing speeds that could leave even today’s most advanced supercomputers in the dust. What if we combined these two forces? Quantum-enhanced AI aims to integrate quantum hardware and algorithms into AI workflows, potentially unlocking efficiencies and capabilities that are currently out of reach. Although this domain is still in its infancy, experts predict it could reshape entire industries in the not-so-distant future. For professionals in AI, this is more than just an interesting development; it’s a pivotal shift that could spawn new roles, research areas, and opportunities. In this thought-leadership piece, we will: Outline the basics of quantum computing and why it matters to AI. Examine how quantum resources might supercharge neural networks. Highlight the career paths at the intersection of quantum and machine learning. Discuss the long-term outlook and what it means for AI professionals looking to stay ahead. Whether you’re already immersed in AI or just beginning to explore its potential, strap in—this new frontier promises a radical transformation.
