Job Description

:

The SVP, Global Head of Identity and Access Management (GIAM) will rethink the discipline of identity management with a core mandate to enable colleagues and clients alike to access the appropriate tools and information in a frictionless way. The GIAM strategy should rationalize systems and entitlements to deliver simplicity and improve security and control, along with a seamless user experience.

The Head of GIAM will ensure alignment with divisional business and technology leaders to develop and deliver a modern set of resilient IAM capabilities that reduce cost and complexity and enable innovation and new initiatives such as State Street’s move to the public cloud. In summary, this executive will own the strategy, practices and technology to deliver a world class IAM capability that is frictionless, scalable and secure.

A GIAM strategy should address:

Identity, Authentication and Authorization- development, testing and production support both for proprietary and off-the-shelf identity systems. Includes rationalization of systems to deliver consistent, streamlined authentication (including MFA) and improved user experience.Entitlement Management- delivering Role Based Access Control, including business engagement, governance risk and compliance. Responsible for the technology and translating regulation to business implications.Privileged Access Management– technology and governance to enforce standards for least privilege and separation of duties with strong authentication.Customer Identity & Access Management- responsible for the identity management systems used to provide access for our diverse range of clients as they interact with our systems.Access Governance- provide oversight and governance to ensure that our employees and clients have access to the right systems and data at the right time. Responsible for ensuring State Street meets the highest standards with respect to access management.Certificate Lifecycle Management– leverage modern public key infrastructure (PKI) and digital certificates to ensure data encryption at rest and in transit, both “on prem” and in the public cloud.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Global and group-wide responsibility for the framework of policies and technologies that ensure that the right users – both State Street employees and its clients - have the appropriate access to data and technology resources to work productively or do business with State Street seamlessly. In recognition of the critical role that IAM plays in protecting the bank and its clients, partner across the Fusion team and the wider Global Cybersecurity organization to ensure IAM is tightly integrated into our wider security architecture and operations. Bring an understanding of the developer experience as it relates to entitlements management, understanding the inter-dependencies between application entitlements, platform entitlements and user experience. Develop standards, controls, and tools to proactively identify and mitigate risk associated with users gaining illegitimate access to data / systems. Lead IAM projects, including those involving authoritative source, identity management, provisioning, authentication, authorization, monitoring and certifications, and auditing and reporting. Lead the direction and execution of the IAM roadmap that prioritizes delivery of modern IAM tools, policies, and practices, as well as supports innovation and new business/technology initiatives such as the bank's public cloud deployment. Partner with peers in cybersecurity and technology / engineering to ensure the IAM road map is aligned to the broader information security and technology risk strategy, as well as customized to fit the needs of the respective business lines. Leverage knowledge of State Street’s businesses to navigate nuances in operational and technical processes across the respective business lines to anticipate potential roadblocks or challenges. Provide oversight with regard to building, configuration, and architecture of one, or more, identity platforms. Lead, develop and mentor a geographically dispersed global team based.

DESIRED OUTCOMES

A consolidated, standardized set of one to two identity and access management platforms. Significantly improved user experience for the ~45,000 State Street employees around the world with regard to their ability to access the data and systems they need to be productive. Elevation of the IAM function, whereby the team is seen as a thought partner in proposing new and innovative solutions to the business, thus enabling them to move faster and more nimbly, as opposed to the converse. A streamlined and frictionless onboarding process for clients, without compromising standards, controls, or security.

Qualifications:

At least 15 years of progressive cybersecurity experience with 8+ years within financial services. 6+ years of operationally focused cybersecurity and IAM practitioner 5+ years’ experience working with business leadership across enterprise projects. Effective communication skills both written and verbal across all levels of the organization. Able to acquire, motivate, and attain top talent through networking and relationships while building talent pipelines. Experience working directly with financial regulators through exam engagements. Ability to manage matrix team environments both direct and indirect reporting lines onsite and remotely. Demonstrate strategic and tactical thinking, along with decision-making skills and business acumen. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Assurance, or related technical field AWS or Azure Cloud certification preferable but not required. CISSP, CISM, CRISC, and/or CISA preferable.

Salary Range:

$225,000 - $337,500 Annual
