Job Overview
Direct all aspects ofPurchasing initiativeseither regionally or globally and across different business functions to realize benefits. Ensures adherence to the IQVIA Transnational corporate purchasing policy which encourages vendor competition.

Essential Functions


Effectively manageteam resources and delegate tasks commensurate with skill level. Evaluate workload and quality through regular review.
Lead corporate or departmental quality or process improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to discussions on implementation of Purchasing strategy on a regional basis and implement objectives as appropriate. Ensure staff have a consistent understanding and positive impression of business strategy for regional and global objectives.
Lead strategic initiatives and develop implementation plans
Provide leadership and management of Purchasing projectsfrom conception through deployment. Establish project budgets, resource plans, milestones, tracking metrics, and success measures.
• Identify purchasing programs where change will impact the business, develop implementation plans, lead change teams and regularly liaise with senior management.
• Identify and agree with stakeholders the project team membership, process steps and timetable and ensure stakeholder interests are adequately represented on the team.
• Oversee preparation and presentation of purchasing recommendations to management and stakeholders.
Manage benchmarkingand validate opportunities by Requests for Information, and prepare and issue competitive Requests for Proposals.
Manage and build relationshipswith internal stakeholders and function or business unit senior management to align priorities, ensure global procurement policies, processes and requirements are understood and complied with and to identify budget reduction opportunities and to ensure global procurement programs enable stakeholder to achieve their business plans.
• Work with stakeholders to manage vendor relationships using agreed scorecard methodology to drive continuous improvement (price, service levels, new ideas etc.).
• Oversee the creation of purchasing plans, priorities, change programs and agree and implement vendor management programs.

Global Professional Services Competency & Experience Requirements

Business Experience

5+ years experience of operating and influencing at a senior management level:

Developed strong working relationships with functional heads and direct reports across areas such as Finance, IT, Legal, HR, Operations & Marketing

Procurement / Functional Experience

10+ Years operating in the Indirect Procurement environment:

7+ years in the professional services space purchasing:

Consultancy services (Finance, HR, Operations, Marketing)

Experience and knowledge of the Market Research category

Would consider candidates from Pharma & Life sciences with customer facing functional experience & key competencies below

• Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients.
