Director of Global Data Strategy

Location: This role is open to candidates residing in the following locations: London, England, United Kingdom / Spain / Italy / Lithuania. Remote options are available, but please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship for this position and that regular travel across our multiple locations is required to support global teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive alignment across product and data strategy initiatives.


Overview:

FairPlay Sports Media is extending their expertise in data, analytics and insights. As the Director of Global Data Strategy, you will be responsible for leading our real-time analytical efforts, driving data-driven decision making, and providing insights that will shape business decisions, including product scale and implementation. You will report to the CPO and lead a team of talented measurement and insight analysts. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to uncover valuable insights, measure product performance, and drive strategic initiatives that impact product innovation, personalisation, prioritization, commercialization and continuous improvement to ensure acquisition and retention are front-of-mind. With AdTech, MarTech and SaaS driving organizational roadmaps, your knowledge and passion for these areas, combined with your data and analytics expertise, will inform strategic and pragmatic decision making across the business.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading data-driven decision-making across multiple product portfolios and collaborating with product, support, engineering, marketing, finance and design teams.
  • Establish a strategic vision and set goals for product analytics, incorporating key initiatives that include AI/Machine learning, expanding in-product analysis opportunities, and elevating the quality, availability, and usability of data.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a global insights and analytics team, fostering a culture of Product Led Growth, future-facing data strategy and continuous learning
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics and measurement strategy that aligns with the business objectives, including collecting and utilizing 1st and 3rd party data, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of product data and latency and other performance indicators that drive quality, value and time to value and market.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineers and marketing teams to ensure that e-commerce and subscription flows are measured and analysed to identify potential areas of improvement and scale
  • Present data and findings to Executive teams, product managers, tech managers, support, engineers, sales and product marketing and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation and to effectively bring functionality to market and drive business value
  • Navigating the areas of regulation and compliance around advertising, marketing and data collection and usage
  • Provide recommendations on additional tools for product usage measurement and analysis to ensure businesses are utilizing the most relevant technologies across B2B and B2C streams
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in BI, product analytics and measurement methodologies and meet/negotiate with potential vendors that can leverage our approach



Knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading data and analytics teams, with knowledge of AI/ML development processes, along with a proven portfolio of successful implementations in SaaS and DaaS products, as well as AdTech and MarTech startegy and activation
  • Proven experience in a similar role, in a leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of product analytics, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software including Power BI, Adobe Analytics, and Google Marketing and Analytics platforms.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Very collaborative and understands how to balance requests from multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent at communicating status and product reports to executives and leadership on a frequent basis
