Director of AI
Salary: Up to £160,000 + Benefits
Location: London/Hybrid (Once per month)

We are partnered with a well-established and forward-thinking retail brand with a significant UK footprint and growing international presence. Their mission is to deliver exceptional customer experiences by combining product innovation with cutting-edge technology. As they continue to evolve, they are investing heavily in advanced analytics and AI to future-proof their business and better serve their customers.

As the Director of AI, you will lead the AI strategy and execution. This is a newly created, high-impact leadership role reporting into the executive leadership team. You will be responsible for shaping and delivering AI-driven solutions across their retail operations, ecommerce, supply chain, and customer engagement touchpoints.

Responsibilities
Develop and lead the company-wide AI vision, roadmap, and execution plan.
Build and manage a cross-functional AI and data science team.
Partner with business leaders to identify high-value use cases and deliver AI solutions that drive measurable ROI.
Drive ethical and responsible AI practices aligned with regulatory standards and brand values.
Collaborate with IT, product, data engineering, and marketing to ensure seamless integration and scalability of AI systems.

Qualifications and experience
Proven experience in leading AI, machine learning or advanced analytics teams in a commercial setting, ideally within retail, ecommerce, or FMCG.
Expertise in data science methodologies, machine learning frameworks, and modern data platforms.
Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex technology into commercial impact.
Deep understanding of AI trends, regulations, and ethical considerations.
