Digital Services have exciting new opportunities for a full-time a week Digital SystemsAdministrator position at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

Please note: This is a fixed term position until 31/03/2026.

We are looking forexperienced, talented, and motivated individuals to join our Digital Systemsteam, which forms part of the larger Digital Services Department at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The role will operate supporting the Trustsuse of Digital Systems. You will be required to work closely with other membersof the Digital Systems team, in addition to Trust Programme Leads, and willplay an important role in the support of users and the configuration,maintenance, training and administration of the Clinical Systems under yourremit.

You will be anexcellent communicator, understanding of the pressures in healthcare, and showan ability to learn and respond to demands in a fast-paced technicalenvironment. You will possess a logical approach to problem solving, and theability to quickly assess issues and prioritise workloads in order to provide aresponsive resolution. You will able to work autonomously, within theboundaries of the role, as well as importantly, being part of a progressive team.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include but not limited to:

Monitoring incoming requests and incidents from the Digital Service Desk. Supporting users in their use of clinical systems. Setting up user accounts. Removing leavers and other routine housekeeping tasks. Maintaining the integrity of patient data. Configuration of clinical systems. Giving advice and Ad-Hoc training to users. Prepare and create support documentation for clinical systems. Testing system changes due to clinical systems updates or other changes.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring incoming requestsfrom the Digital Service Desk and resolve / escalate these in line with agreedservice level agreements (SLA) as required. Supporting the Trusts use of clinical systemsthat include, but are not limited to: PAS (Patient Administration System) Electronic Patient Record Systems Electronic Prescribing Systems Order Comms PACS (Picture Archiving and CommunicationSystem) eDMS (Electronic Document Management System) The post holder will take responsibility formaintaining data integrity. Regular housekeeping tasks must be carried out toensure that digital systems operate smoothly and efficiently and that they areavailable to users during agreed times including occasional support outside ofnormal working hours. Identify user data errors and correct them thusavoiding potential risks to patient care and subsequently avoiding clinicalincidents. Manage clinical system user accounts. Allocationof appropriate system security to those users in accordance with IT securitypolicies. Prepare and manage support documentation for digitalsystems as required. The post holder will be involved in identifyingand resolving software problems and faults. This will include liaison with otherteams within Digital Services and also third party suppliers of digital systems. Escalate, where appropriate, to the seniorcolleagues. Responsible for minor application changes tosystems when required Involvement in the testing of planned systemchanges and incident resolutions Involvement in Change Management techniques bytesting application procedures in a test environment to ensure any changes willbe successful before releasing in a live environment. The post holder may be required to write testscripts. The post holder will be expected to investigatepotential solutions to systems problems and to make recommendations forconsideration by the appropriate Digital Systems manager. The post holder must approach system problemsmethodically. System issues can be complicated and resolving issues can requiregreat concentration. Sensitivity andconfidentiality is of paramount importance as access to a wide range ofconfidential sensitive and patient identifiable information is routine to thepost. The post holders will be expected to communicateon a multidisciplinary level with clinicians, doctors, other medical staff,secretaries, administrative staff, IT project managers, etc. Make suggestions to the Technical andOperational Services team on application issues. Liaise and advise withoutside contractors staff

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Diploma Level qualification in a relevant IT subject or equivalent experience. ECDL Advanced or equivalent experience. GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent.

Desirable

ITIL Foundation Course.

Skills and Abilities

Essential

High levels of concentration required. Ability to learn and develop skills further. Troubleshooting skills. Ability to prioritise workload. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to liaise with technical and non-technical staff. Good customer service skills.

Microsoft operating systems and applications. Highly computer literate Excellent Microsoft Office skills. A good understanding of NHS national data requirements. An excellent knowledge of NHS confidentiality requirements. Sound awareness of Data Protection.
