The growth of the digital team in the A+D sector requires the appointment of a UK&I Digital Lead who will ensure successful delivery utilising cutting edge digital technology. They will be supported by individuals in the digital team who focus on specific aspects of the overall role, such as digital delivery, consulting, implementation and optimisation. 

A key aspect of the role will be to build on our Industrialisation solutions, including DfMA and MMC, and innovations for standardised repeatable process, which deliver increasing value to clients for implementation leading design outcomes and adoption.

Reporting to the Director for Architecture & Design and working closely with the Growth and Strategy Lead for A+D, the successful candidate will have proven experience in organisational digital transformation and the application of “Digital by Default” to all facets of program and project delivery. They will have strong development skills and the technical ability, knowledge, and competence to provide guidance and transform teams.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Develop A+D digital strategy aligned to business line’s strategic growth areas, regional digital plan and global business line digital plan. Report on progress against the strategy and any Return on Investment of digital specific funding.   
  • Act as a digital champion providing technical excellence and work with leadership to ensure the right client solutions, are delivered on time, cost, and to professional, quality, and legislative standards every time.  
  • Lead, coordinate and maintain Industrialisation strategy across business units and meet needs of our clients and their critical success factors.
  • Standardisation of processes, products, design, and data throughout delivery lifecycles.
  • Plans, and stands up processes to implement, operate and enhance the Industrialisation strategy.
  • Reduced unwanted variability to achieve benefits including reduced waste.
  • Enabling technical assurance across delivery through digital & AI.
  • Driving innovation and DfMA and MMC, through standardisation and aggregation of demand, increased client capability and setting clear requirements of suppliers.
  • Support Operating Unit leadership with the development and implementation of an appropriate resourcing strategy for the business units to maximise the efficiency of the delivery of the sources of revenue, drive gross margin, and minimise risk e.g., using other geographies and end markets, offshore centres, timesheet contractors, and permanent hires.   
  • Work closely with Operating Unit leadership to develop recruitment, professional development, engagement and retention plans, and to promote diversity & inclusion. 
  • Foster improvements in quality and efficiency by integrating digital tools and methodologies. Track and communicate progress using metrics such as software token usage, client satisfaction surveys, and rework rates. Enhance the success of execution by collaborating with Project Managers and technical leaders to guarantee optimal resource utilisation and the selection of appropriate digital tools and solutions during digital audits of bids and projects. 
  • Manage the growth of the digital implementation pipeline and seeking out new bidding possibilities. Evaluating and documenting the expansion in digital implementation prospects. Improving Customer Account Manager comprehension of services provided and effectively turning discussions into revenue-generating projects.   
  • Assess and report on the impact of marketing communications every quarter via surveys faced both internally and externally. Complete oversight for the expansion of digital advisory pipeline by exploring bid opportunities. Engage with Customer Account Managers to improve their comprehension of digital offerings and report on their comprehension through an internal quarterly survey.   
  • Lead by example by visibly driving SH&E culture, ensuring effective implementation of AECOM SH&E policies and procedures, and achievement of the SH&E core value metrics for the Operating Unit.   
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with AECOM Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Membership of a recognised professional body relative to our core markets.
  • Master’s or Engineering Degree in an appropriate related field
  • Membership of a professional institution desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent relevant experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading diverse teams and leading projects of varying scales.
  • Proven track record in developing and growing client relationships. 
  • Skills and experience of national and international lean manufacturing, construction, logistics and customer service organisations, across different sectors.
  • Industrialisation knowledge which includes DfMA, MMC, platforms, lean manufacturing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 19650 and related BIM standards. 
  • Individual BIM certification with recognised body e.g. ICE, BSi, BRE, etc. an advantage. 
  • Experience setting up and working in and administering Common Data Environment such as Autodesk ACC. 
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of previous innovations for programs and projects of all sizes.
  • Experience in leading and growing large teams and successful financial performance and business development/sales/growth experience in the public or private sectors.
  • You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
