Vickerstock are working in partnership with a large food manufacturing business on the appointment of a Despatch Manager on a full-time permanent basis. With recent expansion, our client have increased their production capabilities and they are now looking for an experienced Dispatch Manager or Supervisor to manage the entire operations of all finished products from storage to timely delivery of correct products to customers. As the Despatch Manager you will manage the Despatch team and ensure full adherence to company policies and procedures regarding quality and food safety. You will improve productivity, efficiencies and standards whenever possible. In your new role: Maintain audit-ready standards and compliance with company policies. Oversee and support the execution of despatch-related and site-wide projects. Utilise Warehouse Management Systems effectively and drive further development initiatives. Ensure strict adherence to Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations. Investigate and resolve any breaches of compliance, ensuring corrective actions are taken. Ensure that all vehicles, machinery, and equipment are well maintained and fit for purpose. Lead and manage a team of Supervisors, setting performance targets and leading by example. Promote a positive and harmonious working environment within the department. Conduct training for new and existing team members, including performance reviews during probationary periods. Manage non-performers through structured counselling and disciplinary procedures in line with company policies. Address and resolve internal and external customer complaints related to the department. Ensure stock accuracy by recording all movements in and out of the despatch area and conducting daily stock takes. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by challenging processes and driving operational efficiency. What you will need to succeed: 2 year's as a Dispatch Manager in Food/FMCG industries or 3-4 years at Supervisory level. Strong management skills and the ability to motivate a team.
