The Opportunity ISMG’s Global Events Division is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join us as Deputy Director of Delegate Acquisition . In this role, you will lead and manage a high-performing team of Delegate Acquisition Managers who are critical to the success of our events and ROI for our sponsors as a driving force behind effective audience acquisition, community engagement, and expanding our reach within target industries. Reporting into the Director of US & EMEA Event Strategy, the Deputy Director of Delegate Acquisition will be responsible for shaping our delegate recruitment strategies, motivating and guiding the team, working closely with cross-functional teams to refine and elevate our delegate acquisition approach, and carrying own targets to ensure successful outcomes / Event KPIs are met. Responsibilities Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of Delegate Acquisition Managers, setting and monitoring individual and team KPIs and goals on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis. Establish best practices and develop team skills for researching, identifying, and recruiting high-value attendees for ISMG’s events. Provide daily oversight, conduct weekly check-ins, and regularly review performance, to provide constructive feedback and create growth opportunities within the team. Strategy Development and Execution: Develop and implement a robust delegate acquisition strategy aligned with ISMG’s goals, focusing on audience growth, engagement, and retention. Collaborate with marketing, content, and sales teams to understand event objectives and target audiences, translating these insights into actionable recruitment plans. Identify and adopt innovative recruitment tactics, leveraging market research, data analytics, and industry insights. Provide hands-on support and contribute to Delegate Acquisition efforts, as needed, to ensure targets and client expectations are met. Event Audience Recruitment: Meet attendance goals for a portfolio of global events in various industries, converting prospects into event attendees. Guide the team in executing multi-channel outreach strategies, including email, social media, direct calls, and LinkedIn, to effectively reach and engage C-Level and other senior executives. Oversee the team’s efforts to grow ISMG’s attendee database through continuous market expansion, including capturing net-new contacts. Ensure ongoing relationship-building and follow-up communication with confirmed attendees to manage attrition and enhance engagement. Performance Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze delegate acquisition performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and making data-driven decisions to optimize acquisition efforts. Prepare regular reports and presentations on audience acquisition results, trends, and ROI for executive leadership. Stay informed on industry trends, emerging acquisition tools, and competitor practices to keep ISMG’s delegate acquisition strategies competitive and effective. Requirements Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing, Events, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in delegate acquisition, event audience development, or recruitment, with a strong background in B2B events. Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams, preferably in a fast-paced media or events environment. Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to interpret performance data and drive actionable insights. In-depth understanding of delegate acquisition techniques, with experience in engaging C-Level and executive audiences. Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent ISMG professionally to internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of the cybersecurity/IT industry is a plus.
