Your Role


We are seeking a highly motivated and talented research scientist to work on our Social Cybersecurity technologies in our Data and Security Laboratory at Slough. This pivotal role will focus on advancing fundamental technologies from disinformation detection/countermeasures, cognitive security, and federated AI agents. We value individuals with a vision to pick up new knowledge, see through complex scenarios and arrive at simple, elegant yet workable solutions. A self-driven nature, creativity, strong communication skills, and attention to detail, are traits of a successful researcher in this role. Your role will involve the following:


  • Conducting research on Social Cybersecurity methods to enhance and verify the trustworthiness of online information with related advanced technologies like disinformation detection/countermeasure and cognitive security


  • Development of one or more of the following technologies,

1.Disinformation detection/countermeasure

2.Cognitive security with personalized AI agent

3.Federated AI agents with privacy-preserving learning and operation


  • Conducting experiments and data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of research findings on simulations and real applications
  • Publishing findings in renowned scientific journals and conferences, while also showcasing achievements through presentations at invited talks, conferences, and workshops
  • Integrating various stages of technologies, from early stage in-house-developed to commercially available software, to realize impactful solutions
  • Fostering collaboration across interdisciplinary teams, including esteemed professors, to propel research endeavors forward


Your Required Experience:


A PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related field

  • Expert-level knowledge in one or more these areas: LLM, machine learning, federated learning, network systems, cognitive security
  • Strong track record of publishing research in top-tier conferences and journals
  • Strong expertise in developing downstream tasks in AI agent and related security


Your Welcome Experience:

  • Experience in rapid prototyping and testing methodologies to validate the functionality and performance of developed solutions
  • Experience in integrating multiple technologies from multiple research domains, including AI, security and network
  • Designing and prototyping applications combining a variety of tools and platforms
  • Experience in machine learning programming written in Python and/or web frontend programming written in TypeScript
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research collaborations
  • Experience in formal methods, proofs and cryptographical systems design
