Our client, a major hedge fund, is seeking a graduate or early-career Data Scientist to join the London team. You will work with a dedicated Data Science team that builds analysis pipelines across Market Data and Alternative Data for investment teams, engaging with Portfolio Managers, Analysts and Traders to help improve strategies and drive performance.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of analysis pipelines across Market Data and Alternative Data to support investment teams.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Analysts and Traders to improve trading strategies and performance.
  • Work with the Data Science team to apply quantitative methods and data-driven insights to investment decisions.
Qualifications
  • 0-2 years' experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer or Data Analyst with exposure to financial data, alternative data, or similar
  • Strong Python and SQL programming skills
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles (e.g., via Computer Science degree or on-the-job experience)
  • Keen interest in financial markets
