We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Data Scientist to join our dynamic and purpose-driven team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in using the power of data to inform strategy, shape our services, and enhance the care we deliver across our organisation.As a Data Scientist, you will work closely in partnership with stakeholders’ internal teams and external partners to analyse how data is modelled and collected, understanding gaps, and making recommendations for improvement. Process and interpret data that reflects both operational efficiency and service outcomes.

You will also help design, develop, and implement data principles and standards across the organisation.Your work will directly support decision-making at all levels, enabling us to identify trends, optimise performance, and drive innovation in the way we operate and deliver care.You will need to be enthusiastic, a logical thinker and have a drive to succeed!Key Responsibilities of the role include:Collect and analyse data from various sources to identify trends and insights. Collaborate with different departments to understand their data needs and provide solutions.Create reports and dashboards to present findings to management.Ensure data accuracy and integrity.Assist in the development of strategies to improve patient care and operational efficiency.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives using analysed data.Bridge the gap between data and decision-makers.Build recurring reports and automate them whenever possible.Translate technical findings into data insights. Explain analytical findings in a compelling, digestible format to non-technical audiences.Essential requirements of the role include:Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.At least 2+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst, Data Architect and project management or in a similar role.Excellent IT skills including fluency with all Microsoft packages, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Experience in data manipulation, data cleaning and preparationExperience in data analysis, interpretation and data modellingProficiency in data analysis & visualisation tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau or Power BI).Ability to meet project deadlines.Strong track record of problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skills.Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Clearly communicates technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also enjoying collaboration and contributing as a team player.Experience of presenting research findings to conferences or other large groups.Experience in the healthcare sector is an advantage but not necessary.Compassionate and empathetic, understanding the sensitive nature of hospice care.Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.Proactive and innovative, with a drive to improve processes and outcomes.This role is key in helping the hospice use data to improve compassionate and effective care.
