Safran Seats GB is proud to announce the launch of its 2024 Apprenticeship recruitment campaign. This year we have 2 opportunities in Data Analytics within our Supply Chain Function.

Safran Seats are an industry award winning, premium designer and manufacturer of First and Business Class seating and technology. Our passenger experience prides itself on innovation, customization, quality and industrial design.

At Safran Seats, we are unique within aerospace, as we interface with both the world's biggest airlines and air framers alike, with the largest seats portfolio of all seats suppliers. One day you could be dealing with one of the world's largest air framers, and the next, some of the biggest airline brands around the world!

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales.

If the answer to all of these is yes, then this could be the role for you!

As an apprentice Data Scientist, you will gain on-the-job experience whilst studying up to a degree to become fully qualified Data Scientist. You will learn about the fundamental building blocks of data science, programming, business systems and data governance whilst being involved its practical application in a business context. You will be a part of a new team shaping the way forward in the use of data science and new data solutions such as AI and machine learning within Safran Seats GB (SGB).

You will support the Master Data Manager in delivering the data 4.0 roadmap at SGB.
Candidate skills & requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with business teams to get a thorough understanding of how the data supports their business processes and ensure solutions offered are fit for purpose whilst respecting data governance requirements.
  2. Analyse data using a variety of tools and techniques identify root causes to business issues and identify solution options.
  3. Carry out data discovery activities to search for patterns in data and provide business stakeholders with performance improvement opportunities based on the findings.
  4. Develop best practice tools that aid the business leadership team with decision-making for a variety of business scenarios.
  5. Deliver innovative solutions to the business that support better quality decision-making.
  6. Support the delivery of data governance standards in SGB.


Minimum Requirements:
Successful candidates will hold A-Levels in STEM subjects, or equivalent.

  2. Passion, energy, drive and enthusiasm for data.
  3. Ability to work effectively with others in order to achieve a collective goal.
  4. Curious minded.
