Working at UserTesting, you will be empowered to help organizations discover the human side of business–transforming how they work, collaborate, innovate, and bring new products and experiences to market. This is what inspires us, and it’s how we enable companies to connect with their audiences naturally and organically through an experience that is uniquely, and intentionally human.

Joining our team means being part of a passionate group focused on transforming how companies learn from and understand their customers. Come join us and help us build the engine for human understanding.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join our Product Team and help shape how we use data to drive decisions, uncover opportunities, and enhance experiences across our platform. In this role, you'll collaborate with product managers, researchers, designers, and engineers to explore behavioral patterns, validate hypotheses through modeling, and turn insights into meaningful actions that make an impact.

You’ll play a key part in improving both sides of our marketplace—enhancing the experience for contributors and customers alike—while helping define and drive data-informed strategy.

The Team

You’ll join a multidisciplinary Product Team made up of product managers, designers, engineers, and researchers, working in close partnership across regions. This team is focused on building data-driven solutions that support both the demand and supply sides of our marketplace. We work remotely and flexibly, with a strong focus on collaboration, experimentation, and growth.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who’s curious, impact-oriented, and excited to solve marketplace challenges through data. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

Extensive experience in product analysis, ideally within marketplace products

Deep understanding of supply-demand dynamics and platform optimization

A strong track record of using data to influence product strategy and outcomes

Comfort working with large datasets and deriving behavioral insights

Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Knowledge of statistical techniques, experimentation, and machine learning

Advanced SQL proficiency, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries

Experience with DBT or similar tools for dimensional data modeling

Familiarity with Snowflake (or comparable) cloud data warehousing environments

Ability to develop compelling data visualizations using tools like Tableau

Bonus if you have experience with Python, fraud detection, A/B testing methodologies, or AI tools that enhance your workflow.

Don’t meet every single requirement but excited about the role?

We encourage you to apply! Research shows that underrepresented groups often don’t apply unless they meet 100% of the criteria—we believe in the value of diverse perspectives and are committed to building a team that reflects a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills.

Application Process

Here’s what you can expect:

Meet with a Recruiter

Meet the Hiring Manager

Participate in a Skill Interview and Stakeholder Interview

Offer Stage

UserTesting is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a participant in the U.S. Federal E-Verify program. Women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and protected veterans are encouraged to apply. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives. UserTesting will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, as applicable.

About Us

What we're creating is a window to help organizations see the world from another point of view—a way to feel what others are feeling.

At UserTesting, we believe empathy is a core component of who we are and how we work, driving us to hold ourselves accountable and ensure we can see and experience things from other people's perspectives.

We’re leading a movement for empathy. This means shifting from only seeing business-as-numbers to seeing business for people. This empowers us to bring our authentic selves to work every day, and drives everyone at UserTesting.
