About the Role

Our client specializes in providing data solutions within Defence and National Security sectors. They are seeking data science specialists with Machine Learning experience to work closely with clients, drive innovation, and solve complex problems.
This role is suitable for candidates with experience in customer-facing or consultancy roles within Defence or Government. Senior levels require leadership experience, including managing client engagements and teams.
Location & Travel

Minimum of 1-2 days on-site per week, with travel up to 4 days per week to client sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Lead client-facing engagements and act as the project face at senior levels
Gather and interpret client requirements, ensuring delivery from concept to completion
Develop innovative solutions using research on new and existing technologies
Apply data science and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems
Collaborate with client data scientists to train, advise, and implement solutions
Contribute to bids and proposals
Lead and manage technical teams, ensuring high performance
Identify business development opportunities and growth areas
Engage with the company's data science community to develop innovative solutions
Required Skills and Experience

Knowledge of Defence or National Security clients and their needs
Experience with machine learning and unstructured data
Proven ability to apply data science to real-world problems
Leadership experience at senior levels, managing teams of data consultants
Delivery-focused mindset, providing value to clients
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, preferably in consulting
Proficiency in Python
Familiarity with Cloud, Jupyter, Computer Vision, NLP technologies is advantageous
Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
