Overview:
Join us in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making at Diageo. We are establishing a ground breaking data and advanced analytics team in GB, where AI is at the core of our operations. As a GB Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in designing and deploying machine learning and advanced analytics solutions that fuel commercial performance and revenue growth strategies.

This transformational role involves close collaboration with Commercial, Finance, Marketing and Digital & Technology (D&T) teams across Great Britain. You will apply advanced data science methods to solve complex business problems, turning data into actionable insights and scalable solutions. Be part of a forward-thinking Strategy and Transformation team committed to using data to redefine business processes and unlock growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of end-to-end advanced analytics solutions focused on the Commercial function. Partner with collaborators across GB to identify business challenges and translate them into analytical use cases. Collaborate with data engineers, visualisation experts, and technology teams to ensure data quality, infrastructure readiness, and model deployment at scale. Translate technical outputs into commercial narratives, communicating findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders. Contribute to the development of AI and ML best practises. Find opportunities for scaling solutions across multiple regions and support pre-sales technical scoping.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in applying data science within a commercial environment. Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL and large dataset processing; experience with PySpark and cloud platforms like Azure and Databricks. Strong experience in developing statistical and machine learning models for business optimisation. Ability to lead programs involving cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Finance). Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts in business-friendly terms. Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; MBA or business analytics specialization desirable.
