Against this background, the business is developing its Advanced Analytics capability with the aim of betterleveraging our data to deliver new insights, value and smarter ways of working across our value stream.Computational Engineering is a key discipline in this regard that uses simulation modeling, optimization andengineering principles to generate better understanding of our processes and improve performance.
This role is for a Computational Engineer who will be a member of the Advanced Analytics team (within SoftwareServices) that is responsible for developing the company’s data analytics strategy and execution roadmap.

Job Description


Support the development of advanced analytics capability through the application of computationalengineering techniques such as modelling & optimization algorithms. Develop scope, design andimplement technical solutions related to this role. Manage the delivery of technical milestones ofassigned projects.


Accountabilities:


Health, Safety & Environment:

Complete mandatory HSE courses and implement any recommended safety actions efficiently.


Be a consistent role model in relation to safety practices with a commitment to the importance of safety

Performance & Delivery:

Develop computational engineering (CE) solutions using modeling & optimization algorithms to solve decisionproblems across TechnipFMC business.


Leverage knowledge in modeling and optimization theory to design customized solutions.
Select techniques aligned with specific project scopes for creating value.
Create robust solutions through testing, verification, and validation.
Manage CE project milestone delivery in a timely manner.
Adopt best practices in CE solution development.
Effectively communicate CE project results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Stay updated with advancements in CE techniques and apply them to enhance existing solutions.

People & Teams:

Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to manage smooth execution of CE projects.


Support project managers for integrating CE code with software products where applicable.
Support CE study projects through suitable University student programs where applicable.
Participate as an effective team member in working collaboratively with your leader, peers and relevant others(including from other teams) to achieve business goals.
Build trust and credibility and manage relationships with stakeholders to achieve great outcomes.

You are meant for this job if:


Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline with strong skills in applied mathematics /physics and programming.


Nice to have: Master’s degree in the above-mentioned disipline.

Required Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience implementing CE solutions for decision support, process optimization, orrelated applications.


Collaborating with CE project stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
Manage delivery of CE project milestones, ensuring on-time & on-quality delivery.
Experiece of developing CE solutions in Oil & Gas or a related industry is a plus.

Required Skills:
A. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Proactive & collaborative in developing solutions that best fit project objectives.


Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with latest developments.
Effective communication skills to clearly explain technical concepts to stakeholders wtith a diversebackground.

B. TECHNICAL SKILLS AND/OR PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:

Advanced – Modeling & simulation techniques including discrete event and/or continuous simulations.


Advanced - Develop models & simulation using (preferably) Python or other high-level programminglanguages.
Advanced - Optimization algorithms such as linear programming, non-linear programming, integerprogramming and heuristic optimization.
Proficient - Tools like Matlab, Simulink and specialized software for systems modeling.
Proficient - Agile methodology for delivering CE projects.
Proficient - Systematic approach to problem-solving & continuous improvement.
Competent – Use of version control systems such as Github.
Competent – Use of code quality tools such as SonarQube.

C. JOB KNOWLEDGE :

Familiarity with TechnipFMC’s key business activities is a plus.
