Data Scientist – AI / Medical Imaging

Location: UK (Hybrid / Flexible)

We are working with an exciting early-stage company applying AI and advanced data science techniques to healthcare challenges. Their mission is to make medical screening and diagnosis more accurate, efficient, and accessible through innovative use of machine learning and imaging technologies.

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing data-driven solutions that combine clinical data, imaging, and AI models. You’ll design experiments, validate model performance, contribute to research and publications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate user needs into impactful analytical approaches. This is a chance to be part of a fast-growing start-up environment where adaptability, creativity, and technical excellence are highly valued.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading data analysis and statistical reporting for clinical and research studies
  • Validating and interpreting AI model performance using real-world feedback
  • Designing and conducting experiments with medical and clinical datasets
  • Preparing publications, evaluation reports, visualisations and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborating across technical, clinical, and commercial teams to deliver solutions

Skills & Experience required:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related STEM subject
  • 1+ years’ experience in data science, AI, machine learning or statistical analysis
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R
  • Experience analysing healthcare or clinical datasets
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Medical image analysis or processing (any modality)
  • Knowledge of DICOM, PACS, or related imaging standards
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Contributions to publications, reports, or clinical study design
