PE Global is recruiting a data scientist for our industrial manufacturing client based in Desford. The role is an initial 12‑month contract and is fully onsite 5 days per week.


Rate: £16.20 PAYE or £22.18 Umbrella per hour.


Responsibilities

  • Provide and maintain visually insightful live dashboards and reports and continuously seek to improve/create processes as needed
  • Create, clean and analyse datasets using tools such as PowerApps
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and cross‑functional team members to understand customer requirements
  • Extract information from internal systems using SQL or EDFL to push information into Power BI
  • Ensure projects are as lean as possible
  • Create and format data structures within safe databases and/or internal systems such as SharePoint and Snowflake
  • Use techniques and coding within Power Query such as append tables, create joins, etc.
  • Incorporate several types of DAX formulas within Power BI
  • Continuously enhance data collection, storage and analysis methods

Requirements

  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or SQL
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Highly competent user of PowerApps, SharePoint and Microsoft Office packages
  • Exceptional problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related field
  • Experience in a similar role or a strong portfolio of data science projects

PE Global cannot assist in providing sponsorship for the role. The candidate must have a valid visa to live and work within the UK for at least the next 12 months.
