Salary:£40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern:Permanent | Full Time | options available

The role

This role sits within the Data Science team of the Commercial function of Business Energy and focuses on delivering data science solutions using machine learning, AI and optimisation. You will work across the business identifying cost-saving opportunities and delivering data science projects which drive value and have a material impact to BE’s P&L.

You will

- Develop and deliver sophisticated machine learning models for key use cases, working with Data Scientists and analysts to ensure timely, production-ready solutions.

- Master data science techniques, seek innovation, and deliver commercially valuable models with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Work closely with our BE IT platform teams to maintain and optimise our existing models, assets and data pipelines.

- Improve Business Energy performance with advanced models and data visualisations, delivering business value and optimising critical models.

- Work closely with and support less experienced Data Scientists to share knowledge and establish best practice, including deployment of advanced ML Ops.

You have

- Strong programming and data engineering skills, including Python, PySpark, SQL, and Azure Databricks.

- Experience with delta tables, Databricks Delta Live Tables, and Unity Catalog.

- Proven problem-solving, quantitative skills, and intellectual curiosity.

- Expertise in designing and operating analytics solutions using Azure cloud technologies.

- Highly analytical, data-literate, with excellent stakeholder management and a background in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science).
