What you will be doing:

You will be working in a highly outcome orientated team and be expected to use your knowledge to help develop scalable and robust AI infrastructure, methods and processes that can be adopted across the organisation. This will involve:

Owning aspects of the AI infrastructure and robust deployment within the Rolls-Royce enterprise architecture, Ensuring compliance with security policies and regulation authorities, Facilitating data acquisition and associated knowledge management of projects Leading and overseeing multiple data science projects. Ensuring methods and processes are captured, documented and re-usable by the wider organisation.

While the role comes with no line management responsibilities you will be required to manage multiple work packages, including managing tasks for managed service providers and internal business areas we collaborate with to deliver against the company’s strategic objectives. 

Technology Stack:

We have a highly capable Microsoft Azure based AI environment with hundreds of users leveraging a collection of integrated services including Databricks, AzureML, Dataiku, DSVMs and Azure AI Services. The technology stack is continually evolving and will be adapted to stay current and suit the changing requirements of the business. You will play a key role in further developing and delivering this capability.

For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the appliable health and safety standards and we are looking for someone who is/has:

Bachelor’s degree in data science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. 4+ years of experience where your primary role was in architecture, infrastructure, data science, machine learning, or a related AI role. Experience with a cloud platform (ideally Microsoft Azure) Experience with AI platform architecture and infrastructure as code (such as Terraform) Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing Very strong programming skills Experience leading teams and/or work package deliveries Experience with CI/CD, MLOps Experience in Spark/Scala/PySpark Experience with Generative AI and LLMOps
