Our client is a forward-thinking organisation that thrives on innovation, data-driven insights, and excellence. Their Data Analytics Team is at the forefront of driving commercial success and operational efficiency, and we are looking for a skilled Data Science Lead to join a dynamic team.

Role Overview:

As the Data Science Lead, you will play a critical role in driving business decisions by transforming complex data sets into actionable insights. You will work closely with various teams to inform pricing strategies, optimize operations, and develop machine learning models that generate valuable business improvements. Additionally, you will lead and mentor a high-performing team of data analysts, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with data teams to ensure the accuracy of data used to inform pricing and operational decisions.
  • Transform multiple data sets into actionable insights that drive efficiency, profitability, and innovation across the business.
  • Analyse the financial impact of commercial data, particularly pricing activities and operational variances.
  • Lead the development of data capabilities and machine learning tools to unlock business opportunities and create actionable insights.
  • Supervise and manage a high-performing data analytics team, ensuring their growth and productivity.
  • Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of systems to deliver the highest quality of service.
  • Engage with customers efficiently, courteously, and in a timely manner, aiming for high customer satisfaction and strong relationship-building.
  • Manage your own workload, adjusting to changing business priorities and customer needs.

To Join Our Team, You Will Need:

  • Proven experience working with and analysing complex data sets, with the ability to drill down into the detail and uncover valuable insights.
  • A strong understanding of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques, with expertise in SQL.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) for creating compelling visual narratives and presenting insights.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Experience in presenting to leadership up to the executive level, simplifying complex data into clear, visually appealing formats.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial datasets, as well as an understanding of contracts and service agreements.
  • Strong numerical, data manipulation, and analytical skills for processing large data sets and identifying trends.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High-level interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong research skills to gather data and insights from multiple sources.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage large data sets without compromising on accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a flexible, adaptable approach to work.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or other data-related disciplines).
