Hear from our team about what it's like working at Policy Expert ✨ About the team: The Data Product Manager is a critical role in our newly formed Pricing Optimisation team. The team has been spun up to deliver data products and machine learning models to develop market-leading pricing to support our ambitious growth plans. The role will develop a vision and roadmap for the team that is aligned with strategic goals and ensure that tangible business value is being delivered. To achieve this they need to work closely with business stakeholders, data science, and data engineering to understand business requirements and how these can be translated into technical deliverables. Your day to day: Define the vision and roadmap: Work closely with stakeholders to define the overall vision and roadmap for data products, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives. Prioritise initiatives: Balance short-term needs and long-term projects, prioritising initiatives based on business impact, feasibility, and resource availability. Delivery : Oversee the lifecycle of data product development from ideation through deployment and maintenance, working with the Delivery Manager to ensure initiatives are delivered and their impact communicated to the wider business. Stakeholder management: Act as the liaison between data scientists, machine learning engineers, data engineers, and business teams to ensure clear communication and alignment. Requirement gathering: Work with business units to gather requirements and understand their pain points to translate them into data product features with measurable KPIs. Write clear and concise product specifications, including user stories and acceptance criteria, for the data team to follow. Continuous improvement: Regularly review performance metrics and user feedback to continuously optimise and improve data products. Facilitate user testing sessions and collect user feedback to ensure data products meet user needs and business objectives. User training & documentation: Coordinate with relevant teams to provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they can effectively use the data products. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all data products, including user guides, technical specifications, and best practices. Data quality standards and compliance: Establish and maintain high standards for data quality, consistency, and reliability. Ensure that data products comply with relevant regulations and policies (like GDPR) and that data privacy and security standards are upheld. Who are you: A passion for data, and while you don’t need a technical background you are comfortable discussing data science and machine learning concepts, tools, and processes with technical people, as well as translating these concepts into business language. A strong track record in data product development in technical cross-functional teams. Strategic thinker with the ability to implement strategies through pragmatic and realistic roadmaps and actions plans. Experience of managing the full lifecycle of a data product from ideation, delivery, maintenance and continual improvement. A data driven approach in how you build product insights to shape decisions, and you are comfortable deriving these insights through SQL queries, dashboarding tools etc. Experience leading and driving business change across an organisation. Extensive experience in managing and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Excellent communicator, both written and spoken, at all levels of the organisation. Highly organised and structured in approach with a results-oriented mindset and an eye for detail. Benefits: This role will be based in our London office in a 50/50 Hybrid mode.
