Main Purpose of the Data & Insights Director Role:

As a key member of our Commercial Leadership Team, you will be expected to play a strategic leadership role. As well as driving the direction of the day-to-day data and analytics teams, you will be expected to develop new insight service offerings and represent our market leading data & insight capabilities with new and existing FMCG clients.

As an experienced data and insight director, you will thrive managing, mentoring, and leading a team of curious data analysts and insight managers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Leadership

Collaborate with the Executive Team and the CLT to align data initiatives with Acosta’s goals and business priorities. This will involve working together with commercial, sales & marketing, and product development teams. Set up the operational model for data management, both within the team as well as in partnership with our Business Unit Directors, external partners and clients. other areas of the organization Demonstratestrong strategic leadershipof the key priorities, the team and our new and existing clients. Responsible for production and delivery ofadded value actionable insightthrough supporting and coaching of the Insight team. Manage the data and insight team performance, capability and personal development, prioritising and assigning resource to key projects Contribute to the success of the group byproviding innovative solutionsand play an active role in business development

Reporting, Data, Insight & Evaluation

Ensure that our data is accurate, reliable, and compliant. Support the data science team in the development and deployment of predictive models, machine learning algorithms and integration of new AI solutions in partnership with the CLT. Spearhead the creation of actionable insights and reports to support strategic decision-making across the organization both from a quantitative and qualitative standpoint. Lead & improve the commercialisation andquality of insightto our current and new clients. Develop tools and training to ensure critical field analysis and insight can be produced efficiently by the Insights team for new and existing clients e.g. ROI/RSV models and tipping point analysis Through the understanding of the market context, client strategy and field team objectives, this role is to highlight and communicatebusiness opportunity to influenceincremental sales.Proactively drive insight projectsthrough the team to deliver continuous improvement for internal and external stakeholders Ability todirect and performoperational and impactful analysis as required.

Client Relationship Development

Be the face and technical expert of Acosta’s market leading data and insight capabilities.Support and attendregular client business reviews and new business pitches new and existing clients. Responsible forbuilding key relationshipswith relevant people within the clients’ business. Lead business andmarket intelligence communicationto ensure the wider business is up to date with news and developments including competitor, retailer and industry developments. Understand clients’ objectives, their business and KPIs and step change their businesses through the power of data Drive the right data-driven strategy – you will need to persuade our internal teams and clients by exercising strong storytelling capability, as well as demonstrating the required evidence through business casing Ensure every action we take is directly improving performance against our clients’ objectives

Person Specification:

Demonstrated experience developing insights for sales and marketing solutions development Whilst your work will be less hands on, you will be expected to have a good working understanding of our core technical skills and subject matter areas to ensure you can support and guide your team Proven leadership & team management experience Problem solving, decision making and conflict management and resolution skills Ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders Excellent verbal and written communication, able to interact and influence at all levels Strong organisational and planning skills, forward focused with the ability to evaluate and adapt plans as required Target driven with good time and task management skills Self-motivated, confident, and determined Administration and organisational skills Previous experience of PowerBI Retail and/or FMCG experience preferable
