Data Science Manager – Insights Consultancy

Data Analyst required for a leading and award winning young driver insurance brokerage based in Chertsey on a cool farm location. Recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the UK's fastest growing companies, they are scaling fast and looking to bring on their first Data Analyst to support the motor insurance operations, focussing on telematics data to improve pricing, underwriting, customer segmentation and risk assessment.

Due to the rural location of HQ, you will need to be a car driver to get to the office - this is an office based job.

Key Responsibilities

Telematics & Driving Behaviour Analytics

  • Analyse telematics data sets to support our the underwriting teams approach to risk selection

  • Collaborate with telematics partners and data science teams to monitor performance of driving behaviour models and suggest improvements.

    Insurance Performance & Business Intelligence

  • Perform analysis on key motor insurance KPIs such as loss ratio, frequency, severity, and claims behaviour.

  • Support underwriting and pricing strategy with granular analysis of risk profiles, claims trends, and customer cohorts.

  • Develop dashboards and visualizations to enable real-time tracking of performance and behavioural insights.

  • Analysing existing product footprint and provide analysis that will enable our underwriting partners to increase our footprint profitably.

    Operational and Strategic Support

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders in product, sales, marketing, finance and customer support to ensure data integrity and accessibility.

  • Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, such as new product development, market expansion, or regulatory reporting.

    Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in motor insurance, telematics, or mobility analytics. Other sectors can be considered.

  • Proficiency in SQL and python for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Strong experience working with large, structured and unstructured data sets .

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI

  • Ability to make reccomendations and comparisons around the data
